There are some women out there who are so terrified of putting on weight that they consume next to nothing through their pregnancy. Please do not do this, you may well be depriving your baby of the vitamins and minerals it requires and you enhance your probability of having a tiny baby. Babies who are underfed at delivery are at a higher possibility for health problems than babies who are of average weight at delivery.
If you find that you have gained nothing through your initial trimester, do not be troubled. some women do not gain anything all through those first three months and some even lose a bit of weight thanks to morning sickness. Your baby's demands are somewhat small at that point. It is when you are in your second and third trimesters that you ought to make sure you are gaining weight accordingly.
If you find that you are not gaining as much weight as you should, you must try to fatten up your diet. improve your fat intake by a portion or too. This will heighten your calorie intake but won't reduce your need to eat. Do not increase your fat by more than a serving or two. There are better and healthier ways to improve your weight gain.
If you are one of the fortunate few who do not get weight easily, you might want to eat foods with the smallest quantity of calories. You can still dine healthy but you want to up your calorie intake. Try consuming avocados and extra cheeses along with some beans too. Indulge in a few snacks as well. Try to add at least three snacks into your program. Make sure you have a decent amount of calories but not so many calories that your wreck your appetite for your next meal. If you are not allergic to peanuts, try a few apple slices with peanut butter or some whole wheat crackers with several low fat cheese slices.
Take some time out of your hectic life to relax. Not putting on an adequate quantity of weight might be a sign that you are doing too much. You could be burning up the calories you consume instead of using them to nourish your baby. Try cutting down on your exercise if you have an exercise routine. You also want to make sure you eat after a workout to replace the calories you just lost. If you are working while you are pregnant and it is a taxing job, make sure you take the time out of your hard-working day for lunch and snacks.
During all of this, consult with your doctor. Your doctor may want to run some tests to be certain that you do not have a thyroid condition or any other undiagnosed medical problem that might keep you from increasing weight. You may also want to keep track of what you consume so you can show your doctor and talk about any changes that may need to be made to your diet. You could not be eating an adequate amount and you may notice that you need to eat more.
